Update

Hi everyone just thought I would give an update. Ive managed to finish the blue linen vest, I just need to put some buttons on the band or a zip, have not decided yet. I will put a photo on tomorrow for you all to see.

Im hoping the first lesson of the Ribber course will arrive tomorrow. My partner has bought me the first part of the ribber course through Metropolitan, which I cannot wait to start. Seeing as me and the SRP 60 are now friends I best get practicing! I loved doing the first course, so doing this second for me feels like a progression in the right way.

Hope to put some photos up tomorrow.

Hope everybody is well.

Hague Linker and Knitmaster 321

Yay!! My Hague linker has finally arrived. I had to adjust the looper but got it working first time. Goodbye hand sewing!!!! Ive been reading apparently you can have hand operated models converted to electric - hmmm one to consider.

I also received the Knitmaster 321 last week and spent a whole evening servicing it and "sorting it out" so that it was useable. It was filthy, and I couldnt move the carriage across, however having scrubbed the needlebed and back rail, cleaning each needle, and replacing the sponge bar, it works as good as my Knitmaster 700. Im impressed with the tool kit - the only thing missing was the latch tool, but Ive got plenty of those.

Here are some photos I took:

It's a quick turn around though, as I've already sold the machine onto a friend. I had been keeping an eye out for a machine for her for a while, and when this one came up I went for it. She has been using a Knitmaster 4500 for a few months, but I think the 321 will be better for her as she finds the casting on a bit fiddly with the 4500. Plus she will have the versatilty of the punchcard.

Looks like my new "Diploma" will be put into practice in the next few weeks teaching her how to use this one.

Should be fun!

Nearly finished the blue linen waistcoat - just got the front bands to sort and then seams. Will upload a photo when its complete.

Hope everyone is having fun knitting!

Talk soon

Update - Correspondence Course and New buys!

Just thought I would give a quick update as to what has been happening recently. Im on with doing the bands and neckband for the linen waistcoat, so hoping to get that finished someday soon.
Ive completed the correspondence course now and have received my honours "diploma" which I am very pleased about.

Ive also been very naughty and have been spending money. This time I have managed to get a nice grey Hague Linker, which I have been after for some time, and also I decided to buy a Knitmaster 321 - don't ask me why? I'l probably just end up selling it on as I have someone in mind, but thought it would be fun to have a go with one, seeing as I think it's one of the machines that my grandma had all those years ago.

That's all for now. I will post pics of my new purchases when they have arrived :-)

Catch you later
