Update - Correspondence Course and New buys!

Just thought I would give a quick update as to what has been happening recently. Im on with doing the bands and neckband for the linen waistcoat, so hoping to get that finished someday soon.
Ive completed the correspondence course now and have received my honours "diploma" which I am very pleased about.

Ive also been very naughty and have been spending money. This time I have managed to get a nice grey Hague Linker, which I have been after for some time, and also I decided to buy a Knitmaster 321 - don't ask me why? I'l probably just end up selling it on as I have someone in mind, but thought it would be fun to have a go with one, seeing as I think it's one of the machines that my grandma had all those years ago.

That's all for now. I will post pics of my new purchases when they have arrived :-)

Catch you later

Phil

  1. Do you bid on ebay? I got so frustrated when I didn't win any bid that I only buy 'Buy it now' now. I always think I have a good strategy but I never win and then I get really mad lol. I noticed though that machines are a lot cheaper on ebay in the UK than over here in the US. I nearly bought one from the UK ebay and was going to pay the huge shipping price because it was a good price but sighs! I didn't win the bid. No matter though, the one I bought is really good and I am loving it. Looking forward to pictures.

What is a linker by the way, is it something to sew seams together?

  3. Thanks Maureen and Alex, will post photos asap. Yes Maureen bid them off ebay I think its all about luck on there, sometimes I have missed out on a few items, some by as little as £1 and gets me really mad. However that is the idea of ebay i suppose. I always but my bid on within the last 10 seconds and hope it will be enough.
Yes the linker is used to sew up seams quickly yet can also be used to attach neckbands, front bands, and decorative effects. Here is a link to their website.... http://www.haguedirect.co.uk/acatalog/hague_d280h_hand_linker.html

    Thanks again guys.
